    Hi mate,

If JAF fails to work for you, I recommend Phoenix, Phoenix saved my handset when JAF couldn't

That guide is perfect except, use Navifirm to get your Firmware and go here to get the latest Phoenix

Then I would also suggest you to try Phoenix.

    @ oreo:

I tried again with JAF software and this time also I got the same log:

    Detected P-KEY: 90009699
    P-key nokia module version 01.02
    Init usb communication...
    PRESS POWER ON NOW!
    Searching for phone...Found
    Error reading phone init data...

I dont know about it but it seems that there is something wrong with the inintialization file using which the phone starts up. If there i a issue with this file, then I think Phoenix will also not help. Only getting initialization file from somewhere will help. Anyways, I tried with Pheonix only for the very first time and when it fails, only then I tried JAF tool.

Phoenix also asks me to press phone's power button. I press the phone's power button but nothing happens. Then, I keep the phone's power button pressed, after 20-30 seconds, I get the pop up that says:

The flashing failed. Do you like to retry the flashing?
    Nokia N72 Help

    HRESULT 0x8401f141 (-2080247487)

Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing.

There are two buttons on the bottom of the pop up that says Retry and Cancel. I click on Retry and same thing happens.

Please let me know if my mobile can be corrected now using phoenix or any other software..it is dead. Please help me.

to be honest with you mate, i'm not very knowloedgable when it comes to flahsing. i would recommend you download the latest phoenix from the link i gave you. also, i'm not really sure about this, but if you can swap the battery of your n72 for something that you are sure has some left, do so. because it might be the battery as well.

    Dude,

I tried with Phoenix service software after downloading it from the link that you provided. Here is the log:

    Flashing started
    Creating product data items list
    Product data items list created
    Backup not required
KeepProductInFlashModeAfterFlash is supported only for FPS-X devices. Ignoring the flag
    Flashing phone
    Initializing
    Scanning image files...
    Waiting for USB device...
    1. Make sure USB cable, Battery and charger are removed from device.
    2. Insert USB cable to device
    3. Insert Battery to device
    4. Insert Charger to device
    --- Press phone's power button! ---

I pressed the phone's power button. Nothing happens and after about 1 minute a pop up shows which says:

The flashing failed. Do you like to retry the flashing?

    HRESULT 0x84210027 (-2078212057)

Firmware updating failed. Error 0x8401F141 - Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing.

There are two buttons below the pop up:
    Retry and Cancel

After clicking on Retry, same thing happens. Can you please help me in reviving my phone?

When you press the power button for a brief time (don't hold it) do you hear a usb inserted sound from your pc? if not, here's what i do.

start phoenix, follow procedure, make sure the battery of the handset is out and the handset is not yet connected to the usb.

After pressing flash, put the battery in, put the handset in the usb, press power button many times (don't hold it) just keep pressing.

If this fails, try it on another usb port or PC.

If that still fails, I'm afraid you might need to bring it to a repair shop :P
