Default Re: Guide: Flash Your Dead 5800/any BB5 phone using JAF tool

Hey..I've been trying install v40..I'm following the instructions pretty much word for word..but i still get an error saying that the flash files are not installed!!

Does anyone know what this error is about??

I've also tried the procedure around 7 or 8 times..with the same results..

I could not obtain the .ini files..and so have added the required files manually..

    Any help would be appreciated..

    Thanks

Just used this tool to bring my 5800 back to life after Ovi Suite killed it during an update to v40.
    Cheers.

the program it self couldnt have killed it, did you read what it said b4 you upgraded it? make sure battery is full etc... it only kills about 0.01% of phones, which is also the users fault, not nokias

The battery was fully charged. Ovi Suite downloaded v40 and displayed an error message during the update process - something like "Ovi Suite has lost the connection to the phone. Remove and replace the battery and USB connector."

I did that multiple times but it didn't help one bit. JAF got the job done in a jiffy.

most probably. since it's bricked, there's nothing wrong in trying.
