there is really no need for all of this i had this prob a min ago and fixed it, with ease, but this is if you have those lines at start up.
Here is how i solved it:
b4 the lines appear you have like 10 sec, well during these 10sec open dialer and enter in *#7370# the command to format the c memory and viola problem solved

Default Nokia N97 RM-159 White Screen

    Hi,

I have been asked to see if I can help sort out a Nokia N97 that will not boot up. Just white screen blue light flashing.

I have done some browsing and have located threads concerning how to reflash N97s, which I am hoping might cure things.

    I have JAFV (v1.98.62) and Navifirm (v 0.1) downloaded.
When I use Navifirm the product list has three N97 listed (RM-505,506 and 507).
When I open the N97 and look on the plate under the battery I see

    Type:RM-159
    Model:N97

So I am a little confused as to what firmware I should use to attempt a reflash.

This is my first time inside Nokia's ecosystem, so any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards

Thanks for the guide. Successfully revive my dead phone. I was sending my 5800 to nokia care center for speaker repair. But, it ended up they bricked my phone by flashing it with new firmware and wanted me to wait for around 2 weeks time for them to order the board to replace. Luckily I insisted to take back the dead phone from them.

    Hey,

Couple of questions. My Phone is working perfectly at the moment but I'd like to flash to a newer Firmware. What are the risks of me bricking it? Will flashing change my IMEI?
