Default Re: Guide: Flash Your Dead 5800/any BB5 phone using JAF tool

Flashed today my 5800 to newest FW v.30 with JAF.
(Some months ago I changed my product code with JAF(Googled then x64 JAF versions and so on) and had(still have) Vista 64bit. Worked then. Now I had some problems with updating FW and even tried just check does the product code changing work, nope... So I installed XP and did fight with JAF quite time and hard resetting phone and so on...) Finally got it work and JAF (flash) settings which did work were:

STEP 3: For flash dead phones (mine wasn't dead, I just turned it off before I did hit the FLASH button) only mark "Dead USB", "Manual Flash" , "Normal Mode" , "Factory Set", "Use INI" and press FLASH and then do simple 1 power on phone (hit the power button).

So that was my case...I would recommend "dead phone" style to flash, even if you have working phone.

EDIT: My Vista64->xp story is history, because the problem I had was just wrong USB. Everything worked well when I flashed to FW v.31 on a Vista 64bit PC. ***EDITED 7.10.2009***

trying to run JAF and using the 'use.ini' it says no INI file found (and there isn't one) - where do i get it?...

OR, if i wanted to do it with the FW (as i downloaded it using the navifirm) which files do i select for:

    MCU
    PPM
    CNT

    files i have downloaded are...

    RM-505_11.0.021.209.04.rofs3_prd.fpsx
    RM505_11.0.021_004_U209.uda.fpsx
    RM-505_11.0.021_prd.core.C00
    RM-505_11.0.021_prd.rofs2.V01
    RM505_0587240_11.0.021_003.dcp
    RM505_0587240_11.0.021_003.vpl
    RM505_0587240_11.0.021_003_signature.bin

    thanks in advanced...

    P.S. I'm using an N97

EDIT: Don't worry, found out I've already done it before using NSS to change the product code and it's already up to date...but at least I now know how to do it if i need to roll back to the Vodafone FW...

As you can see, phone just can't reboot after procedure. I've unplugged cable, reinserted battery, but after switching ON phone still freeze on NOKIA on display. When I flashed it first time, I've switched it on, phone started, i set date, time, but then it froze.

I'm wondering if it could be hardware problem or what. Any advice?
