No. First Nokia rolls out FW for certain product types (your cousin gets it and updates). Then your operator takes that FW and starts to change it (this might take a few weeks or months). Only then you can update your FW.
By de-branding you change your code to a code that is generic and not customized. Therefore, it is faster available.
Theoretically, by changing the product code, you void your warranty!
If you decide to do it, use a "safer" tool, like NSS.

I tryed debranding my Nokia 5800 and Nokia Software Updater said there weren't any updates for my firmware. I changed it with NSS, does this mean I have to use JAF to change my 5800 PC?

No. NSS is enough. The question is: what is your current FW version on phone, and to what code did you change it to?

So you have changed the PC to 0570022? That should take the phone to V31.0.101.
Do a deep reset of your phone (dial *#7370#) and then run NSU. Post a screenshot of it.

Hey guys, I have a question, i debrand my phone (5800 blue) using NSS ( I have Windows 7, 32 bits) to Euro1 Blue, it works great, the number was change (new number as show in the updated list: 0559360), but the nokia updater doesn't work in win 7, so i tried OVI (ver 2.0.2.42) but can find any update available... I check with the new number in the web page of Nokia (Nokia Europe, I'm in Germany) and it shows that I have the v.40.0.005 available (I have v.21.0.025 right now in my phone) but so far "no updates available" in the OVI update option... so what I did wrong or what I should do

I tried the nss but it is error. And also when i am installing this NSS, it has too many options like virtual USB, etc.

And also my 5800 XM is Rm-356, 0582555. Please tell me what is compatible to change my code. Please and thanks in advance. Good night.

So, if the was locked, it will still be locked.
Is there any danger or risk in doing that ?
