    I changed the product code with RUSSIAN RED, but the old languages appear again! Why is this?

    Hi there - first post, although I've been browsing this forum pretty much since I got my shiny new 5800 in Feb

    I went through the same process as described in the instructions for S60v3 device (using NSS and then NSU) about a week ago after reading other topics on the subject. I changed my product code to generic EURO red 1, and reinstalled the firmware, and then was able to get the latest v30 firmware update as well.

    I can confirm that NSS v1.0.38.15 supports 5800 and I was suprised at how easy it was to change the product code and de-brand - hardly any effort at all. I have had no issues after changing product code, besides bugs already reported with v30 firmware ... After debranding, I could never go back!

    Thanks Nasua - this topic is a great summary of the important bits, it would have made my life a lot easier if I had had this!

    @andruha7200,
    I've told you to follow the NSS guide (not the JAF).

    Your PC needs first to recognize the phone. See a similar discussion here:

    Default Debranded N97 on any network?

    I have a question- forgive my ignorance!! I have a UK Vodafone N97 which I have debranded using EURO1 product code. I am now thinking of selling it and am unsure how to advertise it. Does debranding the handset mean it is also unlocked? Can it now be used on any network? Thanks all.
