Is flashing a firmware update to my phone the only way I will get Russian onto it, and is Refurbish the only way? What would Restore User Product do?

    Thank you!!!
Well, after flashing just change your product code back.
And yes the only way to get russian on your phone is by flashing with firmware supporting russian.

That would mean chaning the product code first, then asking NSU to update and that's exactly what I was unable to do - change the product code first. Which is why I had to download the firmware I wanted it to be on and flash the unit using phoenix. Even now on version 20 of the firmware, I still can't use phoenix to change the product code - it still wants me to give it a 7 digit order number. And can't use JAF because I can't run the PKey emulator on either of my PC's (tried version 4 and 5).

Got what I need now, though, so I am happy I founf this forum!!

Incidently, I took the phone to a Nokia Care Point asking them to change it to Russian. They wanted 20GBP and would then see "if it is possible"... If it was, they'd do it at no further charge(!!) and if not, they would return then phone to me with no service provided for my money. Rip off merchants.

They also stated if they kill the phone, they are not responsible since it is me asking for this (paid!!) service. Useless people. If doubt Nokia know that is the level of service their care points provide...

Nokia's customer service is very poor.

    Hey guys,

I've got a red Nokia 5800 from O2 UK. No matter how I change the product code, the NSU just won't find updates at all. I attached a screenshot of my phone update screen as well as my original product code (haven't found this one here so far) in the JAF window.

    Any ideas?
