I have a vodafone locked 5800, but my firmware is still at v11.0.008 and update says it has found no updates.
I checked my product code and it is different from any I've seen around on the forums, so its probably a special vodafone code.
Changing the product code would brick my phone I guess, because the firmware is a little bit different on my phone, and the updates are meant to be incremental insteadt opf replacing it all. Am I right?

It wont brick your phone, but it will void your warranty

u have a branded phone with vodafone firmware loded which includes some vodafone specific apps ...
u can just change product code and update ...it will not brick your phone ..
it will void ur warranty though

Thanks it worked! thought the update would just be an incremental one, but at 120MB I guess it isn't
