why? we all put rompatcher for example.. i've tried also with rotateme.. no need to mod appshelldate.xml cuz it can brick your phone (i've played with this shitty file..)

but have you added installers (.sis) or the whole apps following the folder structure?

afcourse...open the sis and copid everything to it's place,
i dont think this was the cause but maybe because ive placed everything on the uda file? and not also on the rofs?
since some folders names were c_private, c_sys etc and some didnt had the c_
    it couldnt be it right?

I play with this file everytime, it┤s the menu organization file, make a backup before editing it...

At least me if i insert an extracted app into my CFW it doesnt appear on the menu until i edit the appshelldata.xml, but anyway i hope there is another better solution!

you need to make them right private, sys etc. without c_ or e_ drive name.

i put apps into rofs2/3 not the uda and every app is here in place. however i have 5800 sorry i don't know if n97 will be ok with modded rofs2/3 parts.
