    Default [SOLVED] Startup Screens

Right now before I get hounded because this has been gone over 1000's of times I have spent hours searching and mainly found how to do this after your phone has already been flashed and is already working fully....

    I have put my 'startup.gif' in rofs2/resource/apps

    My 'startup.mp3' in rofs2/system/sounds

I have also edited the 101f8763.txt to point to these files in rofs2/private/10202be9

Now all I get is NOTHING no sounds or animations it just boots the the HS can someone please help before I smash my phone/pc/tv/playstation/any1intheroom/house with the absolute incensed rage im feeling

Could someone just explain it in plain english just simple bullet points or numbers PLEASE as I have searched for F#!*ING hours now!

And like I said only found how to do it with the hack patch thingy I want to EDIT MY FIRMWARE before I flash it.... any help would be greatly appreciated

btw i'm editing my own version of DCR's No crap V6, just a few small tweaks i.e. the app open logo, the startup screen, splash screen etc jus because it is the best, ive tried all the latest literally and DCR smashes them all except for a FEW small niggles I have with it.

Once again thanks to ANYONE that helps... The beers are on me

Ok no replies yet, well I have been doing some more research because I just cannot for the life of me figure out what im doing wrong and I thought maybe....

Is it that the startup.gif HAS to be a .mbm file instead of .gif IF I am editing the firmware and flashing it??

because I have since tried using the many installation .sis files on here to change the bootscreen and they work, but I just want it in my pre-cooked firmware. Im not the only person who is going to be having this on their phone, i have a few friends and my mum who will be using this lol

So please if anyone can just tell me what im doing wrong or send me a link to an actual mod page because the ones Ive used arent working

Thanks Devil but im sooooo close to finishing this ive spent DAYS tweaking and rebuiding it....

I have also just thought if anyone could tell me where DCR has put the bootscreens and shutdown screens it would solve my problem, the 101f8763.txt file says its in c:\\data\\Others\\Boot\\

but this doesnt actually exist in the rofs2 or rofs3 so i am totally confuzzled any ideas? ANY AT ALL?
