    Default Can I flash/update my phone with a CFW without hard-reset it?

    Hi! I'm stuck in v40 version, since neither NSU nor Ovi Suite work. And I'd like to make a CFW to update phone! But... I don't want to lose all my data and apps and settings again. So... what can I do to update phone with v50 and at the sametime, keep all my old stuff (even without CFW...)?

    Cheers!

    hi man can u tel me wat all data u want
    and for settings ;
    goto file manager
    double click on back up
    then in BACKUP CONTENTS option choose watever u want to back up
    after backing up flash ur phone with v50
    then when v50 is integrated
    go back to file manager doble click on bback up
    after that click options and restore
    thats it

    for apps u cant do any thing u have to install them again after flashing

    for flashing ur phone to v50 frm v40;
    1 downlaod all the files of v50 frm navifirm
    2 cook rofs2 as per ur liking or download it frm this site
    3 then flash ur phone with jaf as we do
    enjoy

    NOTE:-
    if some error appears like "error reading ini data" or "error booting phone"
    simply remove the cable frm the existing usb slot and put it back o another usb slot

    if it still dosent work unapply all the patches frm rompatcher n also remove frm auto

    Mate I know that. I'm a CFW maker. But what I'd like was flash phone and KEEP MY DATA, and not reinstall it. At least a COMPLETE SECURITY COPY (by the way, I can't do it on Nokia Ovi Suite...).

    I would assume that if you don't flash the uda file the c: will not get overwritten, then you don't wipe your data. However to make sure you don't mess the phone up make sure you use the exact same firmware that is currently on the handset. APE variant is the uda file so if you don't flash that it should work ok. However I would make a backup beforre trying this just in case.

    You can check that uda is the APE variant by looking at the JAF log listing the files to be flashed.
