Default Re: Complete GUIDE to make your own custom firmware (CFW)

I'm trying to get JAF to work on Windows 7, but I can't seem to get it to work.

It keeps ending up giving me the following error:
    ERROR: Not supported Windows version

Whenever I try to start it with the PKEY emulator.

Can anyone help me on getting JAF to work?

Try to run JAF in windows vista compatibility. Just right click on the installer, go to compatibility tab and change the windows version to vista or XP. And also try running JAF in administrator mode.

    Hi guys!

    In J.A.F.:
what does MCU, PPM, CNT and APE_Variant mean?
Is MCU the core file? PPM the rofs2 file? CNT the rofs3 file?
But when I try to open a MCU file, the core file doesn't appear... it's like a differet file type in Windows.

    These are my FW files:
    - RM-356_50.0.005_prd.core.C00
    - RM-356_50.0.005_prd.rofs2.V01
    - RM-356_50.0.005_C03_prd.rofs3.fpsx
    - RM-356_50.0.005_026_000_U01.uda.fpsx
... do I need more files? Because when I downloaded the firmware from Navifirm, there were three other files...

With NokiaEditor I changed only the rofs2 file, right? Can I use other flash files with my rofs2 file or do they have to be from the same variant (as called in Navifirm)?

And just before flashing J.A.F. shows up "Languages in ppm: English,French,German,Italian,Spanish,Portuguese" - cause I deleted some languages and imported some other... so that doesn't matter, does it?

The languages which are shown in jaf are just taken from filename of the rofs2 file, ignore that. Download the three other files too and place everything in the right directory. Just tick use ini, select ur phone model and it loads the files automatically. The variant doesn't matter. But there could happen some unwanted things if rofs3 or core is already modded.

OK, I made it so far - JAF shows the following:

    Searching for phone...Found
Flash files are corupted or missing...

I only changed the rofs2 file. But for flashing I took other rofs3, uda, core files (from other product codes) - might this be the problem?

I did it! And it works! The problem was one or two file names of the flash files...
    Thanks for all your answers!
