    Maybe because I'm using Win7-64bit

Will install windows xp sp3 and find out the problem !!
that won't solve it. i'm on a 64 bit windows 7 like these people below. flashing is no problem. i used nokia editor v0.6

also, make sure you have a good version of JAF, download it from lilian's guide.

and lastly, i know this is light, but don't forget to exit pc suite because i've experienced problems with this.

I hope it works for you.

okay, first things first, don't ask a question totally unrelated to the topic. create your own thread, but since you are desperate enough to do it, it might mean that you actually want to mod bad, so i'll answer you anyway, but please, don't do this again.

you make a custom rofs2 with a tool called nokia editor 0.6

you need to flash the firmware altogether. here's lilian's great guide on how to do that.

No, you don't need to hard reset your phone. Once you flash, it wil be automatically hard reset. I hope this answers your question.

Take all the mods from here which you want to include in your ROFS2 and then Download Nokia editor (any version other than 0.7) by PNHT or Nokia Cooker or any other ROFS editor, open your ROFS file and extract make changes, repack and replace the original rofs2 with your CFW while flashing (you need all the FW files like .c00, rofs3, .bin,) you need to flash the firmware together, No there is no need to hard reset your phone before flashing, because while it will be automatically be hard reset...
TAKE BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING and read guide to flash if needed...
Tons of material on flashing available on this forum.

If you still have any questions then feel free to ask, will try my best to answer.

Flashing by following a flash guide is easy.
If you haven't flashed your Nokia FW40 then I presume that your phone is unhacked or you have updated your FW after hacking it through HelloOX2.

I'm having a similar problem. Every time I try to edit rofs2 I get a brick.
If I flash untouched cfw I have no problem, so it cannot be the flasher (i'm guessing).

If I extract rofs2 and then just repack, there is no problem, if I edit anything, like just changing the default boot language (changing just the "d" in the file), I get the brick.
I've tried with different editors and versions. This drives me nuts.

The only thing that I can remember it's because I have 64bit system or if there is any form of signature/checksum that is getting changed every time i edit the rofs2.

Any ideas/suggestions on how to proceed to track down my "bug"?

    Thanks in advance
