Don't thank me. I didn't make them, just found them an put them there.

v.04 on the coming. Trying to find nice patches to include in it first. So far, only the camera shutter sound patch has been altered. Don't know how to change the recording beep yet. If any of you can point me to some CLEVER patches, then just drop a line here in this thread.
My intention is NOT to put any apps in the ROM. I think they don't belong there (can't be updated or uninstalled if they're there). Instead, I'm searching for clever mods to existing functions, that make our lives easier.

Don, here is the "remove record tone.rpm":
    ; *** Patch: Remove Recording Tone ***
; Remove patch-BB voice call recording
    ; Author: wadowice
    ; Date: 09-May-09
    ; Finishing:Marshall.87
; Use: rmp patch on the E:\patches, rompatcher enabled
    ; for 5800 xm
    SnR:sys\bin\saAudioServer.dll:400D0300df:400D0000d f
    SnR:sys\bin\saAudioServer.dll:AF20534F:0120534F

It was such a relief finally having a patch as you don't need the beep suppression technology (which basically cut the recording useless) anymore. Beep suppression seems to be enabled on some EU countries like germany.
    Thanks, best regards
    Amber
    Also useful patches:
No_led_on_foto (suppresses red LED when using the camera)
; POSSIBLE remove LED on foto
    ; Made by Marshall.87. Tested at 5800 v 11 and 20
    ; thanks: wadowice

Call log 365 days (keeps you call log 365 days instead of just 30)
    ; *** Patch: Call log for 12 months ***
    ; Author: wadowice
    ; Finishing : Marshall.87
; Log application show calls and SMS received, missed, dialled.
; But store only 30 days.
; This patch setting on 365 days.
    ; -Apply patch.
    ; -Open Log application.
    ; -Settings.
; -Set Log duration = 30 days. Not true. It lay 365 days.
    ; -press OK.
; -verify: Select again. "No log is selected". This mean patch applyed.
; -no need to apply patch on boot.
    ;
; Why to do it? Because I store bad memory and don't want other programs.
    ;
; Important: probably need patch c2z4bin
    ; For 5800:
    SnR:sys\bin\LogsPlugin.dll:008D2700a3:8033E101a3

And maybe (but that depends on the user): Disable charger notes

    ; *** Patch: Disable Charger Notes ***
    ; Author: wadowice
    ; Date: 18-Apr-09
; Disable notes shown when you:
    ; -connect the battery charger
    ; -disconnect the battery charger
    ; -battery is full
; Why to do it? Because the light and the beep wakes me at night.

And I remember a patch where you can tell the music library where to search for music so to not include ringtones without the need for hiding the folder, will have to search for it though and paste it here later.

Don, most of that are patches used with rompatcher.
Maybe this can be done directly now, maybe a rompatcher with autostart can be included.
Except for the last one with the gallery which is just a "file".

The possibilities seem endless now with opening up the firmware files and I am more than thankful for every custom firmware making the phone faster, more stable, more usable and more stylish :-)

    Thanks,
    best regards
    Amber

PS: And if any possible, could the german language be included along with the english one (I know, every nation now bugging for their language ;-) )

Ooo-kay. I don't know what to do with patches. Are these lines supposed to be copy/pasted in txt files somewhere?

And for the umpteenth time: As far as I know, languages cannot easily be added. Doesn't English come with the Deutsch FW? I thought English was included in every FW.
I've only found out how to REMOVE a language. My tutorial for that is in the languages thread somewhere here in the modding forum.

Don, regarding the patches: You already have some of that included as I just read:

-Hacking patchfiles (need only to install RomPatcher+ and then apply patches).

So maybe no need for that.

And regarding language files and removal:
I am more than willing to cook my own firmware if only one could guarantee that I won't brick my phone useless and could always reactivate it with phoenix or JAF without the need for additional hardware and help.
Too many people at the moment always warning, is it really that dangerous?

    Thanks,
    best regards
    Amber

Removal of a language works if you follow my instructions in the languages thread. If you only remove the

I bricked my phone many times while testing the CFW, but I always managed to flash back to a previous working version. I cannot GUARANTEE you always can revive it, but my experience was I always could.

The third HS is activated by selecting "Basic" as HS theme.
What's the error you're getting? For me everything is working perfectly.
