I've tried Slick.... Works out perfectly ...... But I prefer to use ebuddy.... I guess I'm just used to it..... You can download that version (S80 version)... Works perfectly on 5800 XM and fits the whole screen:

Sorry to dig up an old post, but I'm looking for something specific in an IM client

I have unlimited 3G on my plan, but the carrier limits to ports 80 and 443 (probably to avoid abuse)

Now I know MSN and ICQ can work on a HTTP connection, but I tried (I think) all IM clients, and can't find one that has this built-in.

Does anyone have an idea on how to circumvent this issue?

Who is your carrier, somebody might know a workaround.

Have you tried Slick, Palringo or IMplus?

I know I tried Slick and IMPlus

Carrier is called SFR (in France). Don't remember if I tried parlingo. I remember trying gizmo5, morange, eBuddy, fring, and a couple of others I forgot the name...
