ah thanks to you mate for your witty post. I'm wishing nokia would implement a "s40-ease-of-use-theme-making" philosophy and just let us have fun making themes without severing our heads...

No, carbide C++ is not any theme designer at all. You have downloaded wrong tool. Carbide C++ is a IDE (Integrated development environment) for the Symbian C++ developers. You can use Carbide C++ to develop traditional S60 applications and Qt applications.

If you want to design themes then you need to download Carbide.ui, which is completely different tool

You can get Carbide.ui from here, i recommend you read both pages:

    http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n...ymbian_OS.html
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/Tools_Doc...Es/Carbide.ui/

Sure it's difficult if you try to design themes using C++ IDE

If you don't even understand what the tool is then you really can't make claims like that.

I've downloaded that carbide thing... Its really nonsense.. A separate sdk about 400MB, pearl plugin, and some more plugins. I've downloaded everything and now they're asking to download maintenance sdk.
