Default Re: Flashing with JAF for Newbie

I have Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver which already installed when installing NSU and PC Suite.

    I use Nokia CA-53 cable.

I ticked Manual Flash, Dead USB, Factory Set, Use INI and Nokia RM-133 for N73 FW was selected, Unticked CRT, then pressed FLASH button, Warning thing appeared, after that I quickly pressed the ON button like what you told for half second only. But it always ended up with that error (Phone not found!!!)

    Did I miss something?

nope. you are doing it correctly mate.

    1. do you hear a usb connected sound when you press the power button? if you don't then press it long enough to hear a usb connected sound in Windows.

    2. Did you consider the battery might be dead? If it's dead, this won't work. You need a charged battery in order to attempt this.

    3. you can try a different usb port as that might be the problem. try connecting it directly at the back of a desktop pc.

    1. Yes i heard usb sound everytimes I plugged the phone and the message "USB not recognized" always appeared.

    2. The battery is fully charged. Because before the flashing, it was full.

    3. I used laptop, and I tried all usb ports mate...

Hmm... Do I have to use F-Bus cable? Or I used the wrong version of JAF?

    I used JAF.1.98.62 with PKEY Emulator v5.

What else I have to do mate?

I heard from another forum that n73 cannot be flashed if it is dead. Is it true?

no. you can use usb cable. you will only use an f-bus cable if you have a jaf box. you are using the correct version. there's something wrong with the drivers then. try downloading the latest version and reinstalling nokia software updater and try again.

with Jaf I flash many times 5800, but now I have a problem. E 72 is generally not on the list offered the phone even though I did everything as before.
