Default Re: Flashing with JAF for Newbie

Thanks, cable was faulty, now I have a new one which works.

UPDATE - I REMOVED AND REINSTALLED JAF PROGRAM AND NOW IT IS WORKING SO PLEASE IGNORE BELOW TEXT!!

Have followed guide in first post, but when I click Go in Jaf pkey emulator it says "Cannot create file C:\Program Files\Odeon\JAF\winscard.dll

Phone is connected via USB and is in PC Suite mode. I did try to connect it to Nokia PC Suite but it refuses to connect and Windows says "a USB device has malfunctioned". I restarted both phone and PC and also uninstalled and reinstalled the Nokia Cable Drivers.

Thanks, now I've got to the stage of clicking flash in JAF.

I switched off the phone then pressed the power button (didn't hold it) then a message came up on the systray saying a USB device has malfunctioned and Windows doesn't recognise it.

Then a warning saying "Warning! Can't make IMEI backup using PM Field 208. Continue?" I clicked yes.

Then JAF said phone could not be found. I repeated process but it still says it can't find phone.

I've repeated this so many times now and it still says it can't find the phone.

I also looked at a different thread to reset the phone to factory settings (to solve the code error) but this too didn't work.

Is v 52.0.007 not compatible with JAF or something?

Edit - I've now repeated the entire process with a Windows XP machine and received the same response.

The phone is Vodafone branded so I wonder whether this is causing an issue? If you have any advice for what to try I'll give it a go :-)
