I was preparing to flash my 5800 XM with Xtension Legacy cfw, and i wanted to clarify a few things :

    - Is it ok to have new connectivity driver or should I accept JAF installer's request to install its inbuilt version of connectivity driver ?

    - In step 1, the path mentioned is "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-356\"

Do i have to create folder structure starting from "phoenix" or is it some additional software that I should have installed ?

    - In step 9 of the tutorial,
"Now TURN OFF your phone !! and then click FLASH button after that press power button (don't hold it) on your phone and JAF will start flashing."
Am I right in assuming that I should press the power and immediately leave rather than holding it till the vibration occurs ?

    Please help!!
I flashed my nokia 5230 v40.0.003 to v40.6.003 using JAF and navifirm.
    used these files :

    RM588_40.6.003_001_001_U001.uda.fpsx
    RM-588_40.6.003_C01_prd.rofs3.fpsx
    RM-588_40.6.003_prd.core.C00
    RM-588_40.6.003_prd.rofs2.V21
    RM588_0599208_40.6.003_001.dcp
    RM588_0599208_40.6.003_001.vpl
    RM588_0599208_40.6.003_001_signature

JAF reported it as successfull. I disconnected the phone after it said 'done!'. But now it won't start. IT doesn't respond at all.
    Please help. Thanx in advance.

    1) default nokis ones will do

    2) did u install JAF?? i guess not, coz if u did the phoenix folder should be der.. u will just have to crate "RM-XXX"

    3) yea u shud leave it immediately, u noe when its right

Hi everyone, I need help please!!!
I did the JAF for newbie to get my 5800 from 31.2.101 to 51.2.007 using navifirm to get new fw.

Problem : My screen has damaged long ago so I changed it with some part from e-bay. It worked fine with fw 31.2.101
However now with fw 51.2.007 my phone freeze a lot and the screen is semi-garbage. I can see part of it and use the touch screen but it's like it's split more or less in half. The lower part is not moving : garbage, static, snow like pixels. The upper part is visible and touch working (however there is some diagonal white triangles scrolling across it). Note : With the upper part I have confirm that the fw is now 51.2.007 and that the icons are scrollable.

Other info : JAF told me "DONE" at the end of fw update but each time I do an upgrade (always with ver 51.2.007) my screen is white with "LOCAL MODE" written on it. After reboot or power off/on the screen is then half-garbage. Did I miss something because the screen is not broken when I flash it only after the reboot.

    What should I do :
1- Buy a new screen from e-bay and hope to get the original one that Nokia used ?
What is the part number I should look for and any links ?
    OR
2- Reflash the original firmware from Rogers (31.2.101) that worked fine with my 5800 CPU and LCD screen ?
Would that be a downgrade and brick my 5800 since I use JAF ?

    OR
Is there something else I can do like mod the 51.2.007 fw with the hardware info of the 31.2.101 fw ?
    OR
Is this happening because Nokia is overclocking the CPU in the latest fw and my 5800 can't take it ?
    Please Help, thanks.
