    This is great. Would there be any CDT file for the US? Or is this a Europe specific venture?

    At any rate, well done!

    Cool Worldwide database

    Don't worry !

    For example, it exists a specific file 1.0.0.10.australia.cdt for the Australia but the official file 1.0.0.594.europe.cdt contained australian speed cameras too ! Why ?
    I was disturbed when I reversed engineering the formula of gps coordinates, I didn't expect to find australian spots in europe !

    Headers of files 1.0.0.10.australia.cdt 1.0.0.22.china.cdt 1.0.0.812.europe.cdt aren't exactly the same.
    I think that the file 1.0.0.812.europe.cdt is the most recently updated, so I used it for all.

    In my case, I created a generic file 1.0.0.0.world.cdt, derived from the 1.0.0.812.europe.cdt
    I stored my worldwide database into this new file 1.0.0.0.world.cdt.
    I removed too the data of both files 1.0.0.10.australia.cdt and 1.0.0.22.china.cdt (the file 1.0.0.812.europe.cdt was already empty) in order to avoid double definitions of speedcams.

    Finally, in the directory cities/diskcache/safetyspots, I have:
    • 1.0.0.10.australia.cdt (empty)
    • 1.0.0.22.china.cdt (empty)
    • 1.0.0.812.europe.cdt (empty)
    • 1.0.0.0.world.cdt (custom)

    Please find all these files 1.0.0.0.world.zip
    Remark, the file 1.0.0.0.world.cdt here is empty, but you can use it as template.

    Thumbs up

    My Nokia N8 is still alive !

    I update this old topic for the latest Symbian users.

    Two years ago, I didn't find a speedcam database with the angles (azimuth).
    In all iGO files that I founded, the field "DIRECTION" was always set to 0. Bad luck!
    If I put 0 for both ANGLE1 ANGLE2 in the cdt files, I will get an alert only if I'am driving in the north direction.
    But there is a margin about the angle, I measured 45 degrees.

    So I quadrupled the definition for each spot to cover the 360░
    ANGLE1,ANGLE2
    0,180
    45,225
    90,270
    135,315

    But by keeping the same values of latitude and longitude for these 4 definitions, it didn't work.
    I had to slightly modify the GPS coordinates, very slighlty else I will see 4 icons !
    It is not perfect, but it works
    Con: you may receive wrong alerts

    Last thing, in the directory cities/diskcache/voices/english_f, I modified the file common.lua to add comments (in bold)

    Code:
         -- Safety SpotWarner
        if trigger == "SAFETYSPOT_WARNER" then
           table.insert(result_list, misc[ "beep_sound" ] )
            -- if above_speed_limit == true then
                table.insert(result_list, misc[ "safety_camara_ahead_wav" ] )
            -- end
        end

    You can download and extract this package 1.6.10.11.world.7z.zip and copy the files in the directory cities/diskcache/safetyspots
    Be careful, the archive is in 7z format but not accepted in attachment here, please rename the file extension .7z.zip into .7z before to extract
    • 1.0.0.10.australia.cdt (empty database)
    • 1.0.0.22.china.cdt (empty database)
    • 1.0.0.812.europe.cdt (empty database)
    • 1.6.10.11.world.cdt (custom database dated from November 10th 2016)

    The empty databases are just present to avoid conflict by downloading again the very old databases

    I wish you an happy new year

    Hi, for speedcams in Nokia Maps I successfully used application piPOIAlert (piPOIAlert). It works as top layer over Nokia Maps. The POI database is standard CSV text file, which I downloaded from public web (POI pro GARMIN, TOMTOM, MIO a jinÚ GPS NAVIGACE | Czech points of interest).

    Lightbulb

    @padrino: You don't know Google?
    Try search string "piPOIAlert v1.06(2)" (this is the latest version of this Symbian app) and you can download it from the 1st link in results...
