phone just released, what u expect there's any good advice out there??
If you looking for a camera phone the N8 would be your best bet, but for overall performance I think it would be wise for you to wait a bit longer then goes through all those users group before make up your mind...

multitasking - from current video demo it should be fine
    C: drive - ~130Mb for user usage

    Few reasons why to update.

    N8 (and Symbian^3) vs N97 (and Symbian^1):

+ Dedicated CPU (GPU) processor for graphics
    + Capasitive multitouch
+ USB OnTheGo (connect Usb mouse, -keyboard, -HDD or any other device)
    + HDMI and HD recording
+ Two microphones for stereo recording
+ Dolby Digital+ audio output via HDMI
+ Twice as much memory, 128MB vs 256MB
    + Supports 32 GB MMC
+ Contains camera with the biggest sensor cell EVER put into a phone
+ Xenon-flash instead of LED flash
+ Symbian^3 offers totally over 250 new features compared to Symbian^1
+ New camera application, including lot of new features
+ WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and support for WAPI
    + Flawless XViD/DivX/MKV (H.264/AVC) video support

+ New kind of haptic (vibrating) effects
    + Kinetic scrolling fully supported
+ Pinch-zoom where it's needed (EMail, Pictures, Browser, Maps (Beta) and Camera)
+ No more double click, but instead longpress and small menu
+ No longer annoying popups and less queries (only once or so)
+ More consistent and easier to use Phone Settings
+ Tips! Phones gives you hints every now and then about the application (can be disabled, don't worry)
+ New Maps with pinch-zoom and hardware accelerated graphics
+ New Ovi Store -application and option to pay with your phone bill (instead of credit card etc.)

+ New Multitask view, which works like Aero Peek in Windows 7
    + Timed profiles
    + New EMail software
+ Feature to Map Network Drive
+ Support for multiple calendar, not just one
+ New Video Editor and Picture Editor applications with all the new features
    + New Ovi Music -application
+ Ovi Music Unlimited with unlimited amount of DRM free music
+ New Web browser engine and with Flash 10 support
+ WebTV applications (like National Geography) playing videos via WLAN/3G

    Deleting file example:

    Symbian^1 (N97):

    2. Click! (Open Options)
    3. Click! (Select Edit...)
    4. Click! (Select Delete)

step 3 doesnt need to be...there is no edit feature to go to delete...its just find file, click options delete....only one more than N8....or is this one of the changes between the N97 and 5800? cos I just checked it myself on my 5800...on 3 steps lol

All are on N97 too, and I don't think you get OMU for free when you buy N8, it would be advertised all over if it where the case.

Ah, sorry about that "Edit...", but it goes like that in some place (Phonebook, Calendar?). But it DOES apply if you try to copy the file.

And if you can live with 8MPix camera and without HDMI, then I'd go for C7 since I like the sleek design much better. C7 is also very thin, only 10.5 mm (vs iPhone 3GS is 12.3 mm). It also comes with cheaper price tag.

    - N97 only supports 16GB MMC
    - Ovi Store 2.0 (written in Qt) won't be updated for Symbian^1
    - I didn't say OMU is free, but N8 is the first device to have it

I was copying the details from Forum Nokia, maybe the comparison is not up to date if 32GB cards work with N97.

C space is not important, since you can also use internal mass storage. Though free C drive space is still bigger (75MB vs 256MB), but more important is the actual RAM; N97 has 128MB and N8 has 256MB. It might not sound a big chance, but if you think about the free memory (for apps), it's a big change.

    N97 free RAM: 128MB - 78MB = 50MB
    N8 free RAM: 256MB - 123MB = 135MB

That's +170% free memory space for (open) apps.

And there is also new multitasking view, which works a bit like Aero Peek.

    Symbian^3 multitasking view.

    Symbian^1 multitasking view.

Very nice but the thing that i don't like is that N8 has the same UI with all previous Nokia phones, same icons, same messaging etc. Could they, at least , pick one decent theme and make it default, because the default theme sucks and the icons and the menu are the same since i had a Nokia 6680 five years ago. Also the external design of the phone is not that good, cheaper phones like C7 or C6-01 are more attractive.
