    Indeed...

That is one... All android apps have auto-update.

Google has expanded the Maps navigation to 11 more countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland. I'm using it on my HTC Desire in Holland.

Yes, the topic went to the direction that was most interesting to discuss.
For that reason, I had to slightly adjust the topic title.
Anyway, I agree. Let's focus on N8 and Sybmian ^3.

And efficiency is only relevant when you're running something on outdated hardware. and if you look at the fact that phones now come with GPUs and 1ghz processors, nokia really has been left behind.
    Exactly
When S^4 comes around to match the UI's of Android/Apple, they will have improved further and Symbian will have lost its efficiency edge...

As for S^3, despite UI tweaks, the same old illogical options system will still be there

Some sources mention August 25th, others end of September for N8 release.
There is also a price tag of 469 EUR mentioned. Isn't this a bit too high

Its the camera that pushes up the price IMEHO
Tbh I still don't see the point in buying a phone for a really good camera when it doesn't have Optical Zoom.
For my next phone all I want is a 3.2 - 5 mp Camera

People weight these things differently. If I'm going to end up buying the N8, it wont be because of the OS, but what it can do. In this case taking good pictures.

I think the price is 350 € before taxes. If you live in Norway that might be the final price there.

The divide between SYmbian and Android exists because Android support in ASEAN sucks. They are basically non-existent and I wont consider buying anything for looks alone with that kind of scenario, especially if they are disproportionately expensive here and can perform the same things except for looking good, basically making the decision to not choose android a no-brainer.

    Back on topic.

Nokia had said that they will strive to not repeat the N97 debacle with future Nseries releases, and that is the most likely reason that the N8 release has been pushed back (especially when they managed to get a general error on video). Prices probably also increased because of added research costs brought about by the delay.
