    Default N8 graphics

Will the n8 provide smooth transitions? On my 5800 sometimes parts of the screen load at different times, it's very unsightly. I hope the n8 will not be like that

Looking at the specs, N8 is much more powerfull with a faster CPU and a 3D processor.

The N8 hardware should easily be capable of smooth transitions, that said it appears to lack a smooth transitions when rotating the screen, and opts from the unsightly black screen method instead. So while the hardware is more than willing, the OS on the other hand might not be.

If you compare it to iPhone 3GS, the N8 is faster and when iPhone is smooth i bet that N8 will be too

The videos are already showing that the rotating transitions are still the old "fade to black" ones. LOL.

Yeah exactly, the video shows that the screen rotation is very similar to Symbian^1

yeah, but on the other hand, there is not the final version we see now...I am sure it will look better on the final product

Apple managed smooth transitions on the 1st and 2nd gen iPhones with a 400Mhz CPU, which they later clocked to 412Mhz I believe. But Nokia couldn't come close with S60v5 even though they had a 434Mhz CPU, albeit minus the all important GPU that iPhone had. The N8 should be more than capable of smooth transitions, but the question is are Nokia and Symbian^3 capable of making it happen?

N8 will be able to get 60fps for transitions, while N97 had 15fps.
