Hello, I would like ask you, does have someone working Map Loader in phone? Next month we are going to holiday in diference country and I cannot add new maps of this country. I tried it on 808 and N8 and both show same error message, via Nokia Suite it doesn't work too. Phone shows "Cannoct connect to server. Try it again later." and Nokia Suite shows "Cannot connect to the service." Does someone know about it more? This is end of maps? When i googled about that I found nothing.

Your only solution then is to side-load an entire region via the direct download links (if those are still online).

    Default Nokia Maps for S60v3/v5/^3/Anna/Belle/N900/Meego

The Map server has gone offline, so the Map Loader (Nokia Suite and S60 phone) showed connection error. Luckily, there's a Nokia Maps archive.

    Instructions
1.Download required files (through the WayBack Machine links on the right)
2.Extracts them to their corresponding locations.

    For S60v3/N900
    Map: maps_v_00.01.29.100
    Index: poi_00.01.29.100
    Voice: voices_v_00.01.29.100

    For v5/^3/Anna/Belle/Meego
    Map: maps_v_00.02.54.223
    Index: poi_00.02.54.223
    Voice: voices_v_00.02.54.223

    Map: cities\diskcache
    Index: cities\diskcache\ClientIndex
    Voice: cities\diskcache\voices

For positioning server (don't know if the original one still works), supl.google.com can be used.

    Bon voyage!

Thank you - this is very helpful.

For me it wasn't intuitive, so:
    1. you click on the links he has in his post.
    2. Then it opens another page.
    3. Then, there are two words "links" - the one on the right is the wayback machine link. click on that.

Also, for me, I cannot get a whoel country map to load i.e. USA. I ahve to choose states separately.
Also, for me, I cannot download more than 2 at a time. I first tried 8-10 and they all failed. So if you have same problem, just try 1 at a time.

Thank you for your help, this is great! I do have an issues

When I extract maps to cities\diskcache, it asks to overwrite the previous files? This is ok?

Also, looking at the file hierarchy, its 0-9 A-f and under each character, is another 0-9A-F. Is that normal?

I don't have a ClientIndex folder. Should I just create it?

    Yes, overwrite is correct
    Yes, that's normal
Does the archive not include the folder at its base level? Then yes, you need to create it.

Continent and some country maps can't be downloaded because those files are too big. You'll have to download sub-maps instead.

The drawback of sideloading maps is that those maps'll not be shown in the Map Loader. But that's the only way to load maps nowadays.

    Good luck
