Default How to create/resize/move partitions on your PC

The GParted application is a partition editor for creating, reorganizing, and deleting disk partitions.

A disk device can be subdivided into one or more partitions. The GParted application enables you to change the partition organization on a disk device while preserving the contents of the partitions.

With GParted you can accomplish the following tasks:

    * Create a partition table on a disk device.
    * Enable and disable partition flags such as boot and hidden.
    * Perform actions with partitions such as:
    o create or delete
    o resize or move
    o check
    o label
    o copy and paste

Just download the ISO image from the below link, burn on a CD, put in PC and restart. After some scary messages you will come to the graphical interface, which is very intuitive to use. Good luck and remember to backup your data first (just in case...)!

    Download Live CD

Yes. It works almost on any OS (including Win XP, Vista, Win 7), and removes the need to purchase paid software, like Partition Magic.

Check first in BIOS of your PC, if it allows you to boot from USB (position 1).

Then follow these instructions to put Gparted into USB drive: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/liveusb.php
