It looks like Apple's board member Al Gore has revealed that Apple will indeed launch not one but two new iPhones, just as some reports have claimed.

The Next Web reports that Al Gore specifically stated that the new iPhones would be out next month at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit today.

The New Web reports:

We've been informed by Toby Shapshak, the editor of Stuff Magazine in South Africa that is attending the conference, that his quote was specifically: “Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug.”

Shapshak says that the statement was definitely plural, although it wasn't clear whether that meant two different models, as the statement was not clarified in any way by Gore.

It is however not clear if Gore has based this claim on information he has received or based on the rumors and speculations he has heard so far. It would be odd for a top executive like Gore to comment based on rumors.

We've heard several rumors that Apple will launch two new iPhones - a cheaper entry-level iPhone model that looks like iPhone 4, which has been unofficially dubbed iPhone 4S and a redesign iPhone 5 and it looks like we've just got a confirmation from none other than Apple's board member.
