    Default iPhone message tone

OK am still trying to work my way round the phone still but I dont seem to be able to add my own message tones. My phone isnt jailbroken any more due to a rookie mistake of upgrading the phone software so is there any way at all to use manual message tones instead of the preadded ones on the phone?

I cant see anything mentioned on here so far.

Instal i-FunBox (I hope works on 3.1.3) to your PC http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.p...c,12193.0.html

    then navigate to

    /System/Library/Audio/UISounds

    sms-received1.caf = Tri-tone
    sms-received2.caf = Chime
    sms-received3.caf = Glass
    sms-received4.caf = Horn
    sms-received5.caf = Bell
    sms-received6.caf = Electronic

You will have to replace 1 of these 6 .caf audio files. (.caf files are .aiff files renamed)

Once you have created or selected the sound you want, you then need to convert the file to 'aiff. once you have done that rename the file to the corresponding filename. For example rename file anyname.aif to sms-received1.caf then overwrite the file on the iphone. I recomend to make a backup of the original file.

So this will still work even though it isn't hacked happy days!!! I'll try it now

Nope only seem to be able to come across the files of iPod, General Storage, Camera and Raw File System

Is there any other way or is that the only way?

i-FunBox, is an iPhone file manager for transfering and maintaining media, files and directories on iPhones and iPods. It works with iPhone, iPhone 3G , iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch in Firmware 1.x , 2.x , 3.x even without JB (jailbreak).

The only things in raw are:-
    App Archives
    DCIM
    Downloads
    Photos
    Podcast
    Public Storage
    Purchase
    Recordings
    Safari
    General Storage
    iTunes Control

Under iTunes + there is a drop down but only for ringtones.
