Default HTC to change smartphone displays due to supply shortage

Looks like there is a possibility that the AMOLED screen in a number of phones (Nexus One, Desire, Droid) will be replaced by an LCD screen due to supply shortage.
I'm glad that I've already got my Desire.

They could choose Super Amoled too, btw LCD has a huge advantage over Amoled: sunlight visibility (and battery for HTC devices)

Well according to engadget, the displays they were switching to were some brand new "super" LCD displays from Sony that's never been tested before, maybe they are even better than our AMOLED displays already mounted in our Nexus/desire/incredible:s

in 1 or 2 years htc can say its a new feature of the new devices BUY ONE

like apple with the multitasking windows have this since 10 years and apple say its a new feature
everybody want to make money you will never see the perfect cellphone or any other perfect thing because nobody would buy a new cellphone when his/hers current cellphone is perfect

    They couldn't...
I believe HTC buys their AMOLED screens from ... Samsung, who is busy with promoting their own Bada OS with Super AMOLED screens. I'm not saying that Samsung deliberately reducing the supply of AMOLED screens to others, but there is a reason why Apple had to go to LG...

Sunlight... yes that is a known weakness of AMOLED screens. However, LCD screens do not perform much better! Hopefully, there will come a new trick that would give boost to screen performance under the sunlight. Other than that, AMOLED is much better for the battery life, has better colors and has viewing angles.
