haha Nice Specs! Almost the same as mine (same CPU and GPU and RAM very very similar)... Getting ready for BF3 too, huh?

    Got me!
Except preparing for BF3 (in which i have artefacts and crashes, but it runs smooth with 60+fps on ultra) , i needed to get away from AMD and ATI and i got tired of upgrading the cpu every 1-3 months, so i got this overkill system.

    @ Jonas

    Nice buy!

The i5 2500K is the best Gaming CPU atm, as current games don't take the advantage of HyperThreading in i7 2600K. Its better only for Productivity stuffs.

But, what you could have got is a Z68 based motherboard. The ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68 Motherboard costs $125 in newegg.

The RAM you bought is a single module or dual 2x4GB?

    What's the PSU you bought?

Also, as I have seen in some benchies, the HD 6970 2GB performs better than GTX 570 in almost all games for a few bucks more.

Lastly, Sandy Bridge is ruling the CPU market at the moment. I'm too happy with my i3 2100 after upgrading from a years old Pentium 4.

and if you bought it only for BF3 then there's a sad news for you that BF3 doesn't take the advantage of more than 2 cores. AMD Phenom II X3's, SB i3's and i5's all perform almost the same. Its more a GPU hungry game.

You should be able to run that on high at 1080p.

Edit : You could've got a Samsung Spinpoint F3 instead of a WD drive, too. Cheaper and faster.

Well, BF3 does use quad-cores but is also adapted to dual-cores as minimal requirement. I play the game with the settings in ultra in 1680x1050 (the resolution of my 22" monitor).

Regarding your suggestions, thanks but ASRock is cheaper but also uses cheaper components so it tends to be less reliable. It can still be a good choice but is not the safest so I don't mind to spend that extra $$$.

I already had a PSU, a Corsair GS600 so I didn't had to buy one.

    The memory is 2x4Gb.

Regarding the GPU, I specifically wanted a NVidia card since it had less issues in games than ATI. The GTX570 is not the best GPU available but is, IMO, the best price/performance one. This card cost me 315 Euros.

Well, if the main discussion is still on PC Specs, I guess we can talk here.
