Default Eldar Murtazin's Official Statement on Nokia Situation

Â*Eldar Murtazin has published an open letter regarding the Nokia situation. You can read all about it here
Now we have the present situation with Nokia's PR machine spreading rumors about me personally and making false claims about their dealings with me. I don't have millions of dollars or legions of PR specialists to back me up, and even if I did, I have no interest in trading insults. Nokia is a great company and I respect what they have done for the market, it's just a shame that because I dare to offer criticism of their products they launch a witch hunt against me. I am just a journalist doing his job, and my job is to report the news as I see it. My first loyalty is to my readers.

First of all: every time I see this picture, I cannot hold my laugh...

Now, this statement is much more understandable than that crappy/rubbish interview he had with TechCrunch over Skype...

Nokia is hunting for the leaks of its unreleased devices and Eldar is just in the middle of it by publishing a review of a leaked device. Draw your conclusions...

Looking at this as neutral as possible, both sides were right in their manner of reaction. Of course, Nokia didn't have enough information on Eldar and his intentions and Eldar probably did not make the facts absolutely clear to Nokia. The relationship could well be sour especially from Nokia and no one has facts to prove it.

From where I am standing, Eldar is an innocent journalist and has definite rights to protect his sources and these sources could sometimes even be corrupt government officials, dictators and other issues. Yes, even getting a prototype and publishing his findings!

Nokia could be deemed to have rights to protect it's intellectual property although I wonder how many people around the world have access to Nokia's information deemed commercially sensitive. I think Nokia could have done more to ensure they know their prototype owners in Russia and also understand that journalists could get access to any information either directed to them by Nokia's own insiders (who have prototypes) or by journalists themselves. With much money, power and influence, Nokia didn't go the right way. I could see many positive avenues which Nokia could have taken to resolve this.

Anyway, I've drawn my conclusion..let us know yours (From the Official statement)

Now he claims he's a journalist!?! What about the softball/amateur interview with TechCrunch, where he stated he is a consultant to the industry. He cannot be both. Sounds to me like he is in desperate need of journalistic cover...though his credentials are highly suspect. Let's all hope for his sake that Samsung offers to cover his legal bills. Just my opinion.
