    Default Shady-looking popups

Being new here, would someone reassure me that this site hasn't been hacked? Every time I try logging-in, simply clicking the username or password fields (and perhaps randomly after that) I see popup windows for the shadiest of web sites, i.e. "Your Flash plugin is out of date, please download and install something". I noticed this when I first joined, right before the lengthy database outage, and took the outage to mean that hackers had gained a foothold and eventually brought the site down. But the site has been up now for over a week and the popups are still there. I started by blocking a few domains by host name, but just installed a third party Firefox add-in to eliminate them across the board. If I was less savvy, these popups might have scared me away from visiting at all.

To be absolutely honest, anything is possible. There isn't much to gain by hacking DM ,unless someone is looking for a useless database of ex Symbian users. I'm immune to seeing any ads of any sort so I can't replicate the pop ups you see. My advice is to use adblockers and make sure you have an AV up to the task.

On a happier note, it looks like your posts no longer need moderating :P

Thanks....but forgive me if your reply doesn't offer comfort. Let's all assume the board is hacked. I realize that you and the other active admins don't have full server control, but once Google flags dailymobile.net as compromised, new traffic will drop to near zero. I hope you guys can find a way to remedy this because I think this is possibly the best independent Symbian board around. I tried posting my question to four boards, and succeeded on all but one: allaboutsymbian.com. I don't believe their forums are ghost towns today because the users deserted the site. I believe they're deserted because the admins left the site. Let's hope your boss comes out of retirement.
