If you downloaded applications off Google Play Store, you probably know that unless you back them up, the applications will be lost once a new ROM is flashed or if the data is wiped for some reason. Astro provides a very simple back up tool.

While there are numerous methods of backing up one's third party applications, it is sometimes a hassle to go through the process. This is probably because some of these methods require root access. Since there are some people who don't like rooting their phones, it is hard for them to back up their apps. But using Astro File manager, you can get an easy and clean backup of the original "APK" file, without the user data. This could be thought of as the setup file of that app. So it can be reinstalled at any point of time without having to download it off the Google Play Store.

The only requirement is that you should have the astro file manager. You will find a link for it below. Once it is installed, you can backup any application using the following method:

1. Open astro file manager and click on the file manager option.
